With many safes on the market today able to be easily opened within 30 seconds by experienced thieves, ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions apart in havings undergone extensive safety testing by Underwriters Laboratories, the world’s most prestigious, professional testing organization.
In order to receive a UL-1037 listing, electronic safes must successfully undergo an array of rigorous testing procedures that include physical break-in attempts by experienced testers. Provided with free reign over the selection of tools, testers are given the task of compromising a safe’s security integrity within a set period of time. Other procedures included a jarring test where safes are struck with a steel ball to determine if both structure and electronic components can withstand such excessive force. With the endurance test, safes are further exposed to over 6,000 openings and closings, as well as 50 battery chargings to guarantee their ability of withstanding prolonged use.
